Equal Access Under Federal and California Law
Accessibility is part of how we care for patients — online and in person. We work to conform our website to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for accessible web content, and to provide effective communication and reasonable accommodations in our office. Our efforts are guided by the following laws:
Federal Law
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — prohibits disability discrimination by places of public accommodation, including dental offices.
- Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act — nondiscrimination and effective-communication requirements for health care providers.
California Law
- Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civil Code §51) — guarantees full and equal accommodations for all Californians; an ADA violation is also an Unruh Act violation.
- California Disabled Persons Act (Civil Code §§54–55.2) — protects the right of individuals with disabilities to full and free use of public places.
Web Standard
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA — our conformance target for perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust web content.
- Published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in ADA web accessibility guidance.
Measures We Take to Support Accessibility
Semantic structure. Pages use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, breadcrumb navigation, and descriptive link text so screen readers can navigate efficiently.
Color contrast. Our design palette is checked so text meets WCAG contrast ratios on light and dark backgrounds.
Keyboard support. Interactive elements such as menus, buttons, and FAQ accordions are built with native HTML controls that work without a mouse.
Text alternatives. Meaningful images include alt text, and we avoid conveying information through color or imagery alone.
Responsive, zoom-friendly layout. Content reflows for mobile devices and remains usable at 200% browser zoom.
Ongoing review. We combine automated testing with manual checks as pages are added or updated, and we remediate barriers as they are identified.

Accessibility Questions, Answered
What accessibility standard does this website follow?
We work to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the current W3C standard for web accessibility. New pages are built with semantic HTML, verified color contrast, keyboard-operable controls, and screen-reader-friendly structure.
Which laws protect my accessibility rights as a dental patient?
Federally, the ADA (Title III), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. In California, the Unruh Civil Rights Act and the California Disabled Persons Act add state-level protections and remedies.
Is the dental office itself wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Our Milpitas office has an accessible entrance, treatment areas, and restroom, with accessible parking nearby. If you need assistance, call (408) 946-0777 before your visit and our team will be ready to help.
Can I get an interpreter or language assistance?
Our team speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Spanish, and Tagalog. For other languages or sign language interpretation, contact us in advance and we will arrange appropriate auxiliary aids and services.
Can I get forms or documents in an alternative format?
Yes. Patient forms, treatment plans, and policies can be provided in large print, read aloud, or reviewed with you one-on-one at no charge. Visit our new patient page or call ahead so materials are ready.
What should I do if part of the website doesn’t work with my screen reader?
Call (408) 946-0777 or use our contact page and tell us the page URL, what happened, and the technology you were using. We will provide the information another way right away and fix the underlying issue.
Does online booking work with assistive technology?
Booking is powered by a third-party tool, and third-party content may have limitations we do not control. If you have any difficulty, call (408) 946-0777 and we will schedule your appointment by phone — including Friday visits, which are by appointment.
How often is this accessibility statement reviewed?
We review this statement and our site at least annually, and whenever significant pages are added or redesigned. The effective and last-reviewed dates appear at the top of this page.
