How CareCredit dental financing works in Milpitas
A dedicated healthcare card
CareCredit works only at enrolled healthcare providers, not as a general-purpose card. Once approved, you have a credit line reserved for medical, dental, and vision costs.
Promotional financing at checkout
Qualifying purchases of $200 or more are eligible for a promotional plan. You select the plan length at the time you pay for treatment.
Reusable for future care
Your credit line stays open. Cleanings, a crown next year, or care for another family member can go on the same account, subject to available credit.
A short overview from CareCredit explaining how the card works and where it can be used.
Two ways CareCredit promotional financing works
Which one applies depends on the size of your purchase and the plan you choose at checkout in Milpitas. Full program details are published by CareCredit.
| Short-term promotional financing | Longer-term reduced APR plans | |
|---|---|---|
| Plan lengths | 6, 12, 18, or 24 months | 24, 36, 48, or 60 months |
| Purchase minimum | $200 or more | Larger minimums that increase with the term length |
| How interest works | No interest if the promotional balance is paid in full within the promotional period. Interest accrues from the purchase date and is charged if any balance remains at the end. | A reduced APR applies for the full term. Interest is charged each month, but there is no retroactive charge at the end. |
| Monthly payment | Minimum monthly payments required. The minimum may not be enough to clear the balance before the promotion ends. | Fixed monthly payments required until paid in full. |
| Best suited to | Treatment you can realistically pay off inside the promotional window | Larger cases where a predictable payment over several years matters more |
Plan availability, purchase minimums, and rates are set by Synchrony Bank and can change. The options you qualify for are shown at the time of application and at checkout.
How deferred interest works
Short-term promotions defer interest rather than waive it
On the 6, 12, 18, and 24 month options, interest accrues from the purchase date. If any portion of the promotional balance is still unpaid when the period ends, the accrued interest is added to your account at the standard purchase APR for your account.
The practical takeaway: the required minimum monthly payment is often lower than the amount needed to clear the balance in time. Divide your total by the number of months in your plan and pay at least that much each month. Our Milpitas front desk can work the number out with you before you leave.
If a predictable payment matters more to you than a zero-interest window, the longer-term reduced APR plans avoid this entirely, and so does Cherry financing, which we also accept.
Treatment you can put on CareCredit in Milpitas
CareCredit dental financing covers the portion of treatment you pay yourself, including deductibles, copays, and anything your plan does not cover. Dr. Gaganjot Khera and our team provide a written treatment plan and an itemized estimate first, so you know the amount before you choose a plan.
- Crowns, bridges, and fillings
- Root canal therapy and extractions
- Dental implant restorations
- Dentures and partial dentures

Get your treatment estimate
We complete your exam, verify what your dental insurance covers, and give you a written estimate. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate.
Prequalify or apply
Prequalifying shows what you may be approved for without affecting your credit score. Submitting a full application is a credit application and results in a hard inquiry.
Choose your plan at checkout
Tell our Milpitas front desk which promotional plan you want when you pay. This is the moment the plan is set, so ask any questions before the transaction is processed.
Schedule your treatment
Once payment is arranged we book your appointment at the Milpitas office. Synchrony Bank handles billing and statements directly with you. New patients can complete forms in advance.

CareCredit dental financing questions
Who issues the CareCredit card?
CareCredit is a credit card issued by Synchrony Bank, an independent third party. Signature Smiles Dental Group is not a lender, does not make the approval decision, and does not set your rate or terms. Your account, statements, and customer service are handled by Synchrony.
Does applying for CareCredit affect my credit score?
Prequalifying does not affect your credit score. Submitting a full credit application does result in a hard inquiry, which can have a small temporary effect. If you would prefer to avoid a hard inquiry entirely, Cherry uses a soft credit check instead.
What does no interest if paid in full actually mean?
It means interest is deferred, not waived. Interest accrues from the date of purchase, and if any part of the promotional balance remains when the promotional period ends, the accrued interest is added to your account. Paying the balance in full before that date is what avoids the charge.
Is the minimum monthly payment enough to pay it off in time?
Often it is not. The required minimum is calculated separately from the promotional period, so paying only the minimum can leave a balance when the promotion ends. Divide your promotional balance by the number of months in the plan and pay at least that amount each month.
What is the minimum purchase for promotional financing?
Qualifying purchases of $200 or more are eligible for the short-term promotional options. The longer-term reduced APR plans carry higher minimums that increase with the term length. Purchases below the minimum fall under the standard account terms.
Can I use CareCredit with my dental insurance?
Yes. We bill your dental insurance first, then CareCredit can cover the remaining balance, including deductibles and copays. This is common for treatment that exceeds an annual maximum, such as implant restorations or clear aligners.
Can I use CareCredit for more than one family member?
Yes. Your credit line can be used for care for anyone you choose to pay for, subject to your available credit, so a single account can cover treatment for several people in the household across different visits.
Should I choose CareCredit or Cherry?
Both are accepted here. CareCredit dental financing is a reusable credit line with promotional periods and suits patients who want an account available for ongoing care. Cherry is a fixed payment plan for a specific treatment amount, applies with a soft credit check, and does not use deferred interest. Our team can walk through both with your estimate in hand.
The CareCredit credit card is issued by Synchrony Bank, an independent third party. Signature Smiles Dental Group is not a lender and does not determine approval, credit limits, rates, or terms. Promotional financing availability, purchase minimums, plan lengths, and the standard purchase APR are set by Synchrony Bank and are subject to change and to credit approval. Full terms are disclosed by CareCredit at the time of application and in your account agreement. See our financing and payment options for the alternatives we accept.
